12.08.2016 - Mick George Ltd announced in Fastest Growing Company list
Specialist Bank and Asset Manager, Investec, has recently announced the latest edition of its Mid-Market 100 list of the UK’s fastest growing mid-market private companies. The list is collated based on organisations with a turnover in excess of £10 million or above and 4 year revenue growth.
The research, which is published twice yearly, provides an encouraging snapshot of the mid-market and demonstrates the massive and increasing contribution it makes to the UK economy. Unsurprisingly, there were some major milestones and significant revelations that will impact the wider business environment.
The main uncovering’s were the 42% boost in total staff numbers across the Mid Market 100 companies, creating 7,500 new jobs in the last financial year and an increase in the average growth rate to 44.6%.
Ed Cottrell, Head of Corporate Lending “The mid-market continues to be one of the most dynamic segments of the UK economy and it’s fantastic to see the pace of growth increasing, raising the bar to entry into the top 100. It’s especially good to see that more than a quarter of companies on the current list have appeared before – including five which were on the first list – demonstrating that high growth is an achievable long-term goal.”
The single biggest driving factor for mid-market growth was largely down to Property and Construction firms, who account for more than a quarter of the 100 fastest growing private mid-market companies. One of which is local construction business, Mick George Ltd, who had already been included in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 earlier in the year.
Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’It is always nice to be listed within this type of research, as it is recognition for the hard work that everyone connected with the company puts in daily. As a business, we’re always looking to progress, this just emphasises that strategically we are heading in the right direction.’’
Stump Continued: ‘’There are some major players from a variety of different industries represented, many of which are particularly influential in their respective fields, across the country. It is pleasing for us to be ‘flying the flag’ in limited representation within Cambridgeshire.’’
